Honicof Syrup

Cough is a cause of concern and a major cause of outpatient visit in children and adults. Cough can impact Quality of Life and cause anxiety and affects sleep and therefore immediate attention / consultation / remedy is sought. Cough in majority of cases is due to upper respiratory tract infection (common cold or flu). Chronic cough may be the initial manifestation of diseases like pneumonia, tuberculosis or asthma. Cough is also common due to smoking and allergies. The routinely used cough syrups cause drowsiness, irritability or dryness in mouth, affecting the daily routine.

Honicof is an Ayurvedic formulation that covers a broader spectrum of symptoms of cough. Honicof contains Vasa (Adhatoda vasica), Tulasi (Ocimum sanctum), Banaphsha (Viola odorata) and Yashti (Glycyrrhiza glabra) having mucolytic and expectorant effect. Haridra (Curcuma longa) and Pippali (Piper longum) having anti-allergic effect. Bharangi (Clerodendrum serratum) and Pippali (Piper longum) possess bronchodilatory effect. Tvak (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) and Bibhitaka (Terminalia belerica) having anti-tussive effect. Honey soothes the irritated throat due to its demulcent effect. Honicof also enhances the immunity of the respiratory tract to avoid the frequent respiratory tract infections.
